What a day!

Forgot my cell phone this morning and didn't turn back for it....
train tracks gates were malfunctioning...waited five minutes then found a way around in the dark which was fun....
car transmission wanted to explode on the way to and from work....
borrowed a cell phone to make sure I made it home
90 dollars for a mechanic to even look at my car....
Half hour waiting for a ride....
Salesperson trying to sell me,  a college student, a new car when I'm prolly going to spend a buttload on my new transmission
I can't find my cell phone
I'm just waiting for something else to go wrong....

Toledo this weekend hopefully!  I'd be sad if I couldn't make it back b/c of my car.  Waterskiing this weekend and get to hang out with Nat!  yes yes yes!

Here's something to chew on!
God's Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure.
Otherwise how will we find our way?
Or know when we play the fool?
Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh!
Keep me from stupid sins
From thinking I can take over your work;
Then I can start this day sun-washed,
scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.
These are the words in my mouth;
these are what I chew on and pray.
Accept them when I place them
on the morning alter,
O God, my Altar-Rock,
God, Priest-of-My-Alter.

This excerpt, from the book I am currently reading, hit home in a way for me.  Especially the stupid sins part...those we commit over and over and beg for forgiveness that we will never go down that road again...those sins.  I love how I can start out everyday fresh.  I think I'd be a mess if I didn't have an eternal relationship with God.  Let me know what you think.

So I haven't updated in a while?!  I'm in Indiana right now trying fulfill part of my edumacation on co op.  It's going ok with Boston Scientific.  I have been getting really bored at work lately and I really hope I get some more responsibilities.  My apartment is sweet!  I got stinken hooked up with a 2 bedroom 2 bath and a room mate who is half christian and sounds cool so I'm excited.  He saw that I was a buckeye fan on my profile sheet and requested me...God is amazing for placing me with another OSU fan who attends IU.  Also, he has a sweet 26 inch LCD TV.

There are 12 UT students down here and other than a couple, I don't think any of have a relationship with God.  Pray that I will be a light to them and that I will find some guys I can grow with and who will challenge me to grow in my walk with God and as a person.  That's it for now!  I'm coming back to T-Town in 2 weeks!!  I miss my Nat!!

  Circuits is going to be the end of me!!  I think it's a combination of having a book that doesn't help explain much to me and a professor who just reads what's in the book and doesn't give the tricks of the trade!  I'm not excited about my psychology class either...I can't wait till that's over too!  I can't believe that I only have 3 classes left till the summer is over!!    I am ecstatic about getting classes over but I still would enjoy having a couple weeks before I had to head on off to co op.  There will be a week after classes are over where I don't have to go to work or school...so I'm pretty sure I'll be making trips to the lake and Sylvania oh fo sho!  I'm also planning on having a a grill out with some of my old high school friends whom I haven't seen in forever.  They are spread out across the country in California, Colorado, Akron, Miami, Jackson, Wauseon, etc etc.  It's going to be an act of God if anyone shows up!  I'll consider the party a success if 3/4 of the people show up.  Curtis and Natalie are coming for sure so I AM having a party regardless if anyone else comes.  It could get CRAZY!!
     Since I'm a college student and I'll be starting a career in the next 6 years or so, I thought it would be a good idea to read a book about that...so I'm reading Racing to win which talks about the successes and failures of Joe Gibbs.  There were 7 interesting cornerstones...I'm paraphrasing...
    1  That God created us for a special purpose and he wants us to be successful at it.  We were created in his image so our work will be an honorable reflection and an expression of God's creativity.
    2  Your priorities should line up with God's plan.  When we surrender our career to the Lord, he will honor us and teach us to use the platform he gives us to honor him.
    3   All work done for the Lord is sacred.  In God's economy, how you do whatever job you have is what matters most.  Do your owrk as unto the Lord, regardless of what field you serve in.  Whether it's making steel as an engineer or working in a ministry...
   4  Personal integrity and honesty really matter.  Your reputation will precede you, just as God Himself went before the Israelites when He brought them out of slavery in Egypt.
   5  Team players make the best players.  Only an honest, realistic, and cooperative individual can dare to seek out the counsel of others before making a difficult decision...
   6  Success comes from those who trust God.  With all jobs, there are ups and downs but the more you trust God, the more he will fortify you through the tough times.
   7  Be gracious and a servant to all.  Just as Jesus told the people who worked for Him that He "did not come to be served, but to serve," we need to take the same approach.  Joe says that even the best head coaches were first good assistants.  That's it for now!
